How it all began

In a field of grass at the end of summer in Santa Fe, a man stands waiting exited but nervous. With him is a dog in a red vest that reads service dog in training and a tail that wags and a tongue that hangs in the heat. The dog suddenly begins to pull and wag her tail as a woman that the dog has meet before and very much wants to see again comes into view from across the park. The woman is looking around to find the man and has with her two dogs of her own. The woman had driven from Rio Rancho to spend the day in northern New Mexico to celebrate starting a new job and they had set a date to meet on her way back home. The man has extra yummy dog treats that he knew to bring as he had been on the phone with his dog trainer the day before explaining how he had meet someone who is grounded and genuine and that they were both nervous about the dogs meeting.

The dogs had spotted one another and were now pulling to bring their noses to one another. After much sniffing the dogs all began to play and follow each other around in circles until their three leashes tangled and wraped the two humans together in the middle.

It is said that the lives of two people in love is told in two books: the book of their life before meeting and the second book that they write together. In the years before meeting, Melissa and Lochlin both had trials and tribulations that altered their lives. In retrospect they see that that the planets had to align just right to bring them to the right place at the right time to have made that first contact from which the second book would begin. We invite you now to celebrate in the opening of this second book in their lives together as they exchange vows.
